Ken was born and raised in Medicine Hat and has been an active member of the Community over the years. He was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 for recognition of his outstanding service to the people and Province of Alberta.
Ken is a former instructor in the Business Faculty of the Medicine Hat College and is currently the co-chair of the Child and Family Services Authority for Southeastern Alberta.
The Children's Wish Foundation is a charity that Ken has been involved with since 2006. He has volunteered many hours at many fundraisers. In October 2009, Ken organized the Music For Melanie concert that raised $29,000 for the CWF in memory of his daughter, Melanie.
Ken completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary and has been working in accounting, finance and management for 30 years. In 1999, he earned the Certified Financial Planner designation.
Ken is licensed to sell Accident and Sickness products, is a full Life Insurance agent and can provide access to mutual funds and wealth management solutions. He has been employed at Cedar Square Insurance/Canada Brokerlink since 1995.
